Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

Our Hotel venue, The Mercure Grand Hotel Biedermeier, asked for hefty price increases in case we would like to move back upstairs to the meeting rooms. Therefore, for the time being, we will remain in the “Zierer Stübe” room until the end of 2007.

Our aim is to provide a high quality meeting location, that is optimal to our members to conduct speeches and enjoy the productive meetings. Therefore we are currently evaluating other venue locations for 2008.

At the moment we are facing a bit of a challenge to:
a) accommodate all the people in the meeting room
and
b) have enough time for everyone to come out and speak

Therefore the Vienna TM Club Executive Committee has made two key decisions
1. New possible location for the Vienna Toastmasters Club 551
We will make a Test Meeting at the Hotel Roomz on the 11th of December 2007.

It is very important that as many members as possible are joining us at this meeting, because we aim to make the decision (to move or not to move) based on the success of this meeting.

If you are unable to attend, it will be rather difficult for you to judge the new location. However, one thing is for sure: we will only move to a new location, if it is better than the old one.

2. Three Meetings per month
Starting March 2008 through June 2008 we will hold three (3) meetings per month: on the 1st, on the 2nd (new!) and on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. This will allow our members to have better opportunities to come out and speak.

A new Toastmasters Club in Vienna?

As the Vienna TM membership keeps growing very fast, we are already considering a second club to Vienna, perhaps already next fiscal year. If this will be the case (most likely) it will only function with the support of all Vienna TM Members. It will be also a great opportunity to all of us to challenge ourselves as a club coach, speaker, executive committee member, etc. and of course we will all have more opportunities to speak, because the meetings would take place then on the 2nd and the 4th Tuesday of the month, therefore giving everyone the opportunity to become dual memebers and speak even once a week.
This is only for you as an information what will most likely happen in the near future —- challenges supporting our vision of becoming the leading toastmasters club in Europe and making Vienna the central hub of Toastmastering into Europe.
